Karen S. Beling, O.D.
Dr. Karen Beling grew up in Easton, PA and moved to the Edgewater/Annapolis area in 1998 after receiving her doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she obtained her bachelors degree in Biology from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Dr. Beling has worked with Dr. Barnett for the last nine years at South River Eye Care, and she has recently purchased the practice. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and is the vice-president of the Anne Arundel chapter of the Maryland Optometric Association.
With a passion for boating and the Chesapeake Bay, Edgewater was the perfect place for Dr. Beling to settle. When not in the office, she enjoys tennis, being out on the water, and walking her favorite pooch, Griffin. Dr. Beling considers practicing optometry in this area to be both a blessing and a privilege.

William A. Barnett, O.D.
Dr. William Barnett is a graduate of Washington College and received his doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry. He also obtained a post graduate degree in childhood development from the University of Maryland. Dr. Barnett opened South River Eye Care over 40 years ago in Edgewater with the belief that he could grow his practice by providing quality care with a personal touch. He has been an active member of the Maryland Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and he has served on the Maryland Board of Examiners as well.
When not practicing optometry, Dr. Barnett enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne, and spoiling his five grandchildren. In the past, he was selected to play lacrosse on a national championship team as an "All-American". He also coached youth lacrosse for over 15 years. Any additional free time now is spent on the golf course perfecting his swing.
